The New Basement Tapes
KCRW - Morning Becomes Eclectic
The New Basement Tapes are a supergroup put together by producer T Bone Burnett to turn long lost Bob Dylan lyrics into new songs. Elvis Costello, Jim James (My Morning Jacket), Marcus Mumford (Mumford & Sons), Rhiannon Giddens (Carolina Chocolate Drops) and Taylor Goldsmith (Dawes) reunited in the Capitol Records studio where they recorded their album, Lost on the River, for a rare performance. Anne Litt hosts the conversation.
