Google's Censorship Of The Internet

Adult content policy on Blogger

Starting March 23, 2015, you won't be able to publicly share images and video that are sexually explicit or show graphic nudity on Blogger. Note: We’ll still allow nudity if the content offers a substantial public benefit, for example in artistic, educational, documentary, or scientific contexts. Changes you’ll see to your existing blogs If your existing blog doesn’t have any sexually explicit or graphic nude images or video on it, you won’t notice any changes.

If your existing blog does have sexually explicit or graphic nude images or video, your blog will be made private after March 23, 2015. No content will be deleted, but private content can only be seen by the owner or admins of the blog and the people who the owner has shared the blog with. Settings you can update for existing blogs.

If your blog was created before March 23, 2015, and contains content that violates our new policy, you have a few options for changing your blog before the new policy starts:
If you’d rather take your blog down altogether, you can export your blog as a .xml file or archive your blog's text and images using Google Takeout.

Effect on new blogs

For any blogs created after March 23, 2015, we may remove the blog or take other action if it includes content that is sexually explicit or shows graphic nudity as explained in our content policy. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

I don't have a problem with taking down the pictures of the girls to keep the blog up. What I have a problem with is Google's nebulous definition of "sexually explicit or graphic nude images" and them deciding  what is and isn't "graphic" or "explicit" and then torpedoing ANY BLOG they do not like.

Blush Response - Telltale & Dead Air EP's

Blush Response - Telltale EP

Blush Response has been one of the surprise hits for shoegaze fans this year. Since the debut release of ‘Telltale’ in February the Adelaide-based solo artist (Alister Douglas) has been praised by Clank For Breakfast, Happy, Tone Deaf, Psychgazer and KDHX. In other words, pretty much everybody who’s heard it! A few weeks back Blush Response delivered an equally compelling follow up in the ‘Dead Air‘ EP. I had a chat to Alister this week to find out how it came to be…

John Foxx - The Garden (Deluxe Edition) - 1981

John Foxx - The Garden
( ~ Deluxe Edition~)
Studio recordings @VBR0

Aside from David Sylvian's mature work with Japan, it would be hard to find a more trailblazing figure in post-glam electro-pop. Foxx (then known as Dennis Leigh) spent much of the mid-1970s in a marginal glam band called Tiger Lilly, but in the aftermath of the rise of the punk movement, he, along with violinist Billy Currie, formed Ultravox! whose first three albums, Ultravox!, Ha!-Ha!Ha!, and Systems of Romance, trace an increasingly experimental progression from glam and krautrock-inspired post-punk to a more lush yet minimalist, synth-dominated sound that points ahead to Foxx's even more groundbreaking solo work.

Track List:
 Disc I: The Garden
 1. Europe After the Rain
 2. Systems of Romance
 3. When I Was a Man and You Were a Woman
 4. Dancing Like a Gun
 5. Pater Noster
 6. Night Suit
 7. You Were There
 8. Fusion/Fission
 9. Walk Away
10. The Garden

Disc II: Bonus Materials
 1. Swimmer II
 2. This Jungle
 3. Miles Away
 4. A Long Time
 5. Swimmer I
 6. Fog
 7. Swimmer III
 8. Swimmer IV
 9. Dance with Me (Early Version)
10. A Woman on a Stairway (Early Version)
11. Fusion/Fission (Early Version)
12. Miles Away (Alternate Version)

Stone Angel - Stone Angel {1975}

 Stone Angel - Stone Angel

Another lost band from the acid folk era of the progressive rock period. They are truly acid. This band used to be Midwinter. The songs are all quiet with many interesting instruments. The lyrics are all stories from their native birth place in east Anglia. The opener “The bells of Dunwich” is a beautiful song that set the atmosphere. “The Skater” move in the same shoes as its former. The third song is a melody from old times. “Traveler’s song” is a typical acid folk – a bit faster than before. “Black sailed Traders” has a great melody. “Stone Angel” is a brilliant piece. It is quiet and speedy at the same time. A real acid. Galliard has a taste of king’s music from old times. “The gay Goshwak” is again fast paced with female vocals. It’s the longest song – a little more than 7 minutes.”Black dog” is beautiful combining female and male vocals.”Holy Rood of Bromholm” is a great song to end the journey. All in all, it has a unique atmosphere almost impossible to find. A bit of Incredible string band, a bit of slow Comus, and a lot of Stone Angel .

Glastonbury Fayre 1971 - The Movie

1971 (20th - 24th June) --- The Festival moved to the time of the Summer Solstice and was known as the "Glastonbury Fair". It had been planned by Andrew Kerr and Arabella Churchill who felt all other festivals at the time were over commercialised. It was paid for by the few who supported the ideal so the entrance was free and took a medieval tradition of music, dance, poetry, theatre, lights and spontaneous entertainment. It was in this year that the first "pyramid" stage was constructed out of scaffolding and expanded metal covered with plastic sheeting, built on a site above the Glastonbury-Stonehenge ley line. The musicians who performed recorded a now very rare album. The Festival is also captured "a la Woodstock" by a 1972 film crew that included Nick Roeg and David Puttnam. This film was called "Glastonbury Fayre".

Bands playing that year included Hawkwind, Traffic, Melanie, David Bowie, Joan Baez, Fairport Convention, Quintessence, Terry Feid, Family, Arthur Brown's Kingdom Come and Daevid Allan & Gong.

Smokehouse - Edge of the Swamp - 1998

Smokehouse - Edge Of The Swamp - 1998
Studio Recordings

Smokehouse proves the group has moved far forward from the point it started although source of inspiration for them still lies in Louisiana. Anthony (Packrat) Thompson's vocal is deep and harmonica sounds soulful and band never leaves borders, they keep staying on the Edge Of The Swamp. While every composition has to say something musically on its own, particular attention should be given to "Hoodoo Lover", "Credit Card Blues", "Bisquit Roller" and "95 South (The High Sheriff From Hell)".

 Track List:
1 - them jelly blues
2 - creepin blues
3 - son of a king
4 - hoodoo lover
5 - swamp jukin
6 - haints in my house
7 - hoy hoy hoy
8 - credit card blues

The Rats Are Coming, The Werewolves Are Here -
Mexican Graveyard

Some crazy post punk/horror/noise from Cleveland. Just what you would expect. If you've ever been there then you KNOW!
Reminds me of a cross between The God Bullies and The Pain Teens.

The Creepshow - They All Fall Down - 2010

The Creepshow - They All Fall Down - 2010

For the past 8 years The Creepshow have been smashing the whole world in the face with their brutaltastic mélange of punk, country, psychobilly and good old fashioned rock n’ roll. They’ve toured the world, sold a metric shit-ton of records and blown the faces off a ga-zillion fans…But the road to punkrock infamy hasn’t all been paved with rainbows, unicorns and gum drops. Over the years, the band has been fraught with innumerable hardships along the way. From robberies and wrecks to line-up changes and countless personal obstacles, this band has lived through it all. And you know what? Instead of crying in their beers and whining like assholes, they got more strongerer, more awesomer, more determinated and a whole hell of a lot angrier.

Track List:
01. The sermon III
02. Get what's coming
03. Someday
04. They all fall down
05. Last chance
06. Sleep tight
07. Dusk 'til dawn
08. Keep dreaming
09. Hellbound
10. Going down
11. Road to nowhere

Bo Ramsey - Same Shit Different Day

 photo thanks to playbsides.com

Interview:
"Bo’s illustrious career has taken him around the world and back again, sharing the stage with such musical luminaries as Elvis Costello and Bo Diddley, and producing records for and touring with Greg Brown and Lucinda Williams, among others. Over the years, Bo has cultivated a sound like no other. A photo on the back cover of his most recent CD, Fragile, says it all. It’s a cleverly cropped photo of the sign on the local Firestone tire store that reads simply, “tone.”

Eddie Harris – Live At Newport 1970

We post all kinds of stuff...

Eddie Harris - Live Newport (1970)
Soundboard @320
{Out of Print}

Eddie Harris hit the 1970 Newport Jazz Festival head on with his satchel of electronic sax gear, funky soul/jazz track record, and a quartet with Jodie Christian now anchored on electric piano. Naturally there would be some funk on display ("Carry on Brother") and guest vocalist Eugene McDaniels, composer of "Compared to What," comes up with a lame, hectoring sequel, "Silent Majority." Yet a good deal of this truncated edition of Harris' Newport set is pitched at a more abstract level. "Don't You Know the Future's in Space," with its tumbling drums and outbreaks of near free form reed trumpet (a Harris invention), is already in progress when we fade into the track, and "South Side" is a rough-and-tumble jazz sprint, with Harris delivering a complex cerebral solo. These advanced tracks didn't win him any points with the critics of the time but hindsight reveals that harmonically as well as electronically, Harris was ahead of most of the pack. As a bonus, the LP includes a short post-set speech in which Harris prophesizes that his reed trumpet will be a godsend for brass players
 (who, alas, completely ignored it).

Fire one up and enjoy!

Track List:
 Children's Song
Carry On Brother
Don't You Know The Future's In Space
Silent Majority
Walk Soft
South Side

Vocals – Eugene McDaniels
Bass – Louis Spears
Drums – Bob Crowder
Electric Piano – Jodie Christian
Piano – Jodie Christian
Saxophone, Trumpet – Eddie Harris
